In a historic gesture, BCCI is dedicating the IPL 2025 final`s closing ceremony to the Indian Armed Forces. The cricket body has invited the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force along with decorated soldiers at the Narendra Modi Stadium on June 3. This tribute comes in light of the success of Operation Sindoor. A military band and patriotic performances are also planned for the day. Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir lauded the initiative.

Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has returned to the Indian cricket team as its new head coach, announced by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah on July 9. Shah expressed confidence in Gambhir, known for his crucial roles in India`s victories in the ICC T20 WC 2007 and WC 2011 finals. Gambhir, previously a left-handed opener for India, also mentored KKR to their 3rd IPL title in 2024. Following Rahul Dravid`s tenure, Gambhir aims to lead India with new goals. He thanked everyone for the opportunity and pledged to bring his experience and vision to guide the team forward in international cricket.
