The first mini waste-to-energy plant by the BMC will be commissioned by the civic body on Friday at Haji Ali. The plant will convert two metric tonnes of wet waste into 300 units of electricity per day.

Shiv Sena leader Haji Arafat on Saturday said he will not allow women activist Trupti Desai set to enter the iconic Haji Ali Dargah and touch the 'mazar-e-sharif'. Arafat said Islam does not allow women to touch the 'mazar-e-sharif' in the 'dargah'.
