54th IFFI: American Actor & Producer Michael Douglas on November 27 was conferred the Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award at the 54th IFFI. His wife and Actor Catherine Zeta-Jones and son Dylan Douglas also attended the grand event. Both, Michael and Catherine lauded Indian Cinema and its rich history.“It is always a pleasure to be in India...We are looking forward to our time in the South…Well, the Festival is ending tomorrow. We are here at the end of the festival but I think it is so exciting. It is an international festival. You have over 78 countries represented here...You have a big history here in India, with the movies..." said Michael Douglas. "...I love the country and the people so very much...My children were brought up watching 'Om Shanti Om' on a loop...There are so many great movies that I have been able to watch...A movie that I love is 'The Lunchbox'. It was one of my favorite movies and it still is one of my favorite movies of all time. It touched me, it was so well acted, so well directed..." said Welsh Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.
28 November,2023 03:05 PM IST54th IFFI Event: The 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) kicked off on November 20 at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Taleigao-Goa which is scheduled to go on till the 28th of November. From Shahid Kapoor, to Sunny Deol, Madhuri Dixit, Shreya Ghoshal, Karan Johar, Sara Ali Khan and many others attended the IFFI event in Goa. Madhuri Dixit was honored with an award for her contribution to Bharatiya Cinema Award at IFFI 2023. Sunny Deol made his debut at the festival.
