A prayer meet was held on Saturday evening to honour legendary filmmaker Shyam Benegal, who passed away on December 23 at the age of 90. The event saw several film industry members, including Shabana Azmi, Urmila Matondkar, Javed Akhtar, Sudhir Mishra, Naseeruddin Shah, Kunal Kapoor, Ila Arun, and Divya Dutta, gather to pay their respects. Shabana Azmi delivered an emotional tribute, recalling her long association with Benegal and the invaluable lessons she learned from him, describing him as her "guru, mentor, and friend." Javed Akhtar and Naseeruddin Shah also paid their tributes to the late filmmaker.
