Cyclone Montha has begun its deadly landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast, unleashing torrential rains, violent winds, and chaos across the Bay of Bengal region. Over 50,000 people have been evacuated to relief camps as the storm intensifies into a severe cyclonic system. High tidal waves were witnessed in the coastal regions of Gujarat on June 12. IMD has issued an Orange alert for Saurashtra & Kutch Coasts in view of the extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm “Biparjoy” over the east-central and adjoining northeast Arabian Sea. Notably, as per Met dept, Biparjoy will make landfall on Saurashtra & Kutch Coasts on June 15. Porbandar DM KD Lakhani talked about preparedness for Cyclone Biparjoy.
