Indian Railways will operate 857 special trains towards Puri and back during the Jagannath Rath Yatra this year for approximately 20 lakh pilgrims, who are visiting Puri, said Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He interacted with the pilgrims during his visit to the Railway Station.He further said that all arrangements have been made at the Puri station for the Pilgrims coming here for the Rath yatra.

Devotees in large numbers thronged Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri ahead of the ‘Rath Yatra’. The chariots of the sibling deities were pulled from ‘Rathakhala’ and taken to ‘Singhadwar’ of the temple by devotees. Heavy security force also assisted in the overwhelming event that created a mesmerizing view. Apart from Odisha, the world-famous Rath Yatra Festival is also celebrated in Gujarat. The `Ratha Yatra` Festival celebrated in Ahmedabad is considered to be the second biggest Rath Yatra in the country after the Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra. Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in Mangla Aarti at Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad on June 20. President Droupadi Murmu offered prayers at Jagannath Temple in Hauz Khas, Delhi.
