Russian President Vladimir Putin apologized for the tragic incident involving an Azerbaijani passenger plane in Russian airspace. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims` families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, according to Reuters. The Azerbaijani plane, flying from Baku to Grozny, was following its scheduled route when it attempted to land at Grozny airport. At that time, the airport was being attacked by Ukrainian drones. Russian air defense systems were responding to the attack, the Kremlin said. The crash of Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8432 near Aktau, Kazakhstan, resulted in 38 deaths. The plane, an Embraer 190, was en route from Baku to Grozny, a Russian city in the North Caucasus.

On December 25, an Embraer EMBR3.SA passenger plane crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, while flying from Azerbaijan to Russia. The flight, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, was traveling from Baku to Grozny in Chechnya, Russia. The plane had 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board, with only 28 survivors, according to Kazakh authorities. Russian news agencies reported the tragic crash, and drone footage showed emergency services at the scene, with the remains of victims visible. Russian President Vladimir Putin offered condolences to Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and survivors were taken to a nearby hospital. A government commission has been set up to investigate the crash and assist the victims` families.
