Amidst the ongoing Delimitation row, at the First Joint Committee meeting on Delimitation called by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai criticized the DMK government, stating, "In the last four years since the DMK came to power, Tamil Nadu's interests have been repeatedly sacrificed for political gains. The Chief Minister has never visited Kerala to resolve issues affecting the state, yet today, he has invited the Kerala CM to discuss an artificial issue of his own making. Our objection is to the TN CM for inviting the Kerala CM instead of addressing Tamil Nadu’s real problems. Furthermore, Annamalai alleged that Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is maneuvering against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He has rushed to Tamil Nadu to project himself as a pan-India leader while portraying Siddaramaiah as merely a regional leader.

The newly appointed District Collector made a poignant visit to check on patients' conditions amid the unfolding crisis. Reports indicate that 107 individuals were admitted to Kallakurichi hospital, with 59 subsequently referred to facilities in Salem, Villupuram, and Puducherry. Of the deceased, 18 lost their lives at Kallakurichi Government Hospital, underscoring the severity of the situation stemming from the consumption of illicit alcohol.
