Madhya Pradesh Congress leader and MLA Jaivardhan Singh staged a protest demanding the resignation of state cabinet minister Kunwar Vijay Shah over his controversial remark about Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. The protest was held outside the Raj Bhavan in Bhopal after Congress leaders met with the Governor. Jaivardhan Singh called the minister`s remark “shameful” and said a mere apology was not enough. He added that if the BJP respects the Armed Forces, they should remove Shah from his position immediately. For context, Kunwar Vijay Shah had made an objectionable comment about Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, which sparked public outrage. Later, the minister posted an apology video on his X handle, stating that he respects the Army officer “more than his real sister.” Watch video

During a visit to Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis offered prayers at the sacred Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and a major pilgrimage site. Speaking to the media, Fadnavis expressed his deep spiritual connection with the temple, stating, "I always come to offer prayer at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple... The blessings of Baba Mahakal are always with us." He further added that he prayed for the well-being of the nation and acknowledged the progress India is making under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Watch video
