Additionally, a landslide occurred at the Mumbra bypass around 11:30 PM, further complicating traffic movement for over three hours. The situation prompted BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani to assess the impact of the rainfall. In response to the severe weather conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Mumbai, warning residents of continued heavy rainfall until September 26, 8:30 AM. He urged everyone to avoid unnecessary travel due to water on roads and in homes in Pune. With Khadakwasla Dam and surrounding areas experiencing heavy rain, he assured readiness with NDRF, SDRF, and Army teams on standby. Due to heavy Mumbai rains, the city faces an 'orange' alert, and efforts include 222 water pumps to clear flooded areas. Railway tracks in Kurla and Ghatkopar are affected, and efforts are underway to reopen the Andheri subway. Shinde appealed for cooperation and vigilance from residents and officials alike.
