Several passengers died and many were injured after falling from an overcrowded local train between Mumbra and Diva stations on Mumbai`s Central Railway line during peak hours. The incident occurred around 9:30 AM when two packed trains passed each other, and footboard commuters reportedly collided due to congestion. Victims were rushed to Kalwa Hospital but were declared dead on arrival. The accident has sparked fresh concerns over railway safety and overcrowding in Mumbai’s suburban train network.

At least four persons, including a senior citizen, were killed when a massive fire engulfed the Prime Criticare Hospital at Kausa in Mumbra​ town, early in the morning on 28th April, officials confirmed.
