Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on December 22 mocked MPs of Bharatiya Janata Party over Parliament Security Breach incident. He said that the two youths, carrying smoke canisters jumped into the Lok Sabha, earlier this month because they were jobless. The security breach happened on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack. Two people--Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D--jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour, released yellow gas from canisters, and shouted anti-establishment slogans before being overpowered by the MPs.

Following the suspension of Opposition Parliamentarians, INDIA Bloc leaders staged a protest march on Dec 21. The protest march was held from Parliament complex to Vijay Chowk. We condemn it. This is also a (breach of) privilege case due to the violation of rules. The ruling party people are disturbing the Parliament proceedings." Amid protests outside Parliament over the MPs suspension from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee mimicked Upper House Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar asking Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to sit on the stairs of the Parliament. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi was seen filming a video of mockery. Hours after 33 members were suspended from Lok Sabha for "misconduct" for the remainder of Parliament winter session on Monday, 45 members from the opposition including Congress' Jairam Ramesh, Randeep Surjewala and KC Venugopal were suspended from the Rajya Sabha for the remaining period of the session which concludes on December 22. While 34 members were suspended for the remaining part of the session, the "misconduct" of 11 others was also referred to the Privileges Committee, which has been asked to give its report in three months.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday took exception to Trinamool Congress' suspended MP Kalyan Banerjee mimicking him during a protest in Parliament premises saying that the mimicry is 'ridiculous' and 'unacceptable'. Kalyan Banerjee, during the protest over MPs Suspension, with other suspended MPs at Parliament's Makar Dwar, was seen mimicking the Vice President while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen filming the Trinamool MP using his phone. As the House reconvened at 12 noon after being adjourned, Dhankhar took note of the incident and said, "Office of Chairman, Rajya Sabha and Office of Speaker is very different. Political parties will have their cross currents, they will have exchanges, but imagine a senior leader of your party, video graphing another member of another party. Mimicry of the Chairman, mimicry of Speaker. How ridiculous, how shameful, how unacceptable."

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on December 15 slammed Centre over Parliament security breach saying that the Home Minister Amit Shah should make the Prime Minister Narendra Modi understand the conduct of the Parliament. He said, “It’s our duty to ask questions. If you would blame us and say that we do politics on it then it means that the government is collectively trying to divert the concern of common people.
