Pongal

The vibrant Pongal festival was celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm in Dharavi, Mumbai. Though traditionally observed in South India, especially in Tamil Nadu, the festival has found its place in various parts of the country. One such location where the celebrations were in full swing was 90 Feet Road in Dharavi. In the days leading up to the festival, the streets were abuzz with people shopping for essential items to mark the occasion. The local community, despite being far from its roots in South India, embraced the spirit of Pongal, indulging in preparations that included shopping for festive goods and ingredients. The lively atmosphere reflected the deep cultural significance of the festival, uniting people in a joyful celebration of tradition and togetherness.
