A pedestrian bridge over the Indrayani River near Kundamala village in Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad collapsed on June 15, leaving 10–15 people feared trapped. 5–6 individuals have been rescued so far, and rescue operations are ongoing, according to local police. Authorities are continuing their search and rescue efforts as more details are awaited.

In a major crackdown, 1768 modified silencers were seized and destroyed using a road roller by the Pune police. The action was taken after multiple complaints were received about deafening bike noise disrupting residential areas. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had ordered action against such modified silencers. “A dedicated campaign was initiated to regulate silencers, and moving forward, action will also be taken against garage owners selling or installing such silencers. We direct vehicle owners to follow proper traffic rules and regulations,” an official stated.
