The Ganesh Chaturthi festival, renowned for its vibrant celebrations, honors Lord Ganesha as the deity of new beginnings, wisdom, and obstacle removal. The festivities have expanded this year to include Anantnag and Kupwara. The participating Mandals—Kasba Ganpati, Tambdi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim, Tulshibaug Ganpati, Kesariwada Ganpati Mandal, Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati, and Akhil Mandai Mandal—recently presented replicas of their revered Ganpati idols to Kashmiri Pandits who had traveled to Pune. These idols will be installed in Kashmir during the festival, symbolizing unity and cultural harmony. This initiative highlights the power of cultural exchange, transcending geographical boundaries. Punit Balan remarked that Ganeshotsav in Kashmir signifies the return of peace and cultural traditions following the abrogation of Article 370. 02 September,2024 04:01 PM ISTOn July 31, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) canceled the provisional appointment of trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar and banned her from all future exams and selections. This decision came after Khedkar was accused of fraudulently exceeding the allowed number of attempts in the examination by using a false identity. On July 18, the UPSC issued a show cause notice (SCN) to her, giving her until August 4 to respond. However, after considering her request for more time, the UPSC granted an extension only until July 30. Khedkar failed to submit her explanation by this deadline. The UPSC reviewed the case thoroughly and found her guilty of violating the examination rules.

Just days after the fatal Lonavala waterfall tragedy wherein 5 people of a family got swept away in the swollen waterfall and died, another news of two boys drowning in Kolhapur's Kalammawadi dam has come into light. Immediately after the incident, disaster Response Force and NDRF conducted search operations. The officials on 2nd of July said that the body of one of two youth has been retrieved. The deceased was identified as Paratik Patil. The 2 youths were a part of a group of friends from Nipani town in Karnataka who were visiting Radhanagari Tehsil in Kohlapur district, Maharashtra for monsoon tourism at the dam. On the same day another terrifying incident happened in Pune. In Pune's Tamhini Ghat, tragedy struck as a man, identified as a trek leader, was swept away by powerful waters. He had been enjoying a day out with around 20 companions, including friends and family, at the renowned picnic spot. Confident in his swimming ability, he dove into the waterfall but misjudged the currents, leading to his fatal accident. Heartbreakingly, his 10-year-old daughter captured the event on video, turning what seemed like a daring adventure into a heartbreaking loss.

31 May,2024 07:34 PM ISTCentral Railway announced a 63-hour mega block starting midnight on May 30, impacting 930 local train services. This block aims to extend platforms at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and widen platforms at Thane station. Operations will resume by 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, 1st June. With over 1,800 local train services daily, serving over 30 lakh passengers across four corridors, disruptions and overcrowding are expected. Thane's overcrowded platforms 5 and 6 will be widened by 2-3 meters. During the block, 444 suburban services will be shortened and 446 services will originate from other stations. Mr. Ram Karan Yadav, the general manager of Central Railway said that Mega block is being carried to extend the length of CST. Apart from the local train services, long-distance trains are also expected to be affected during the block period. The railways have appealed to commuters to avoid travelling by local trains, unless necessary. However, daily commuters faced overcrowding and difficulties navigating through the crowds during the Mumbai block on 30th of May.

Initially, he had claimed it was a BMW, but CCTV evidence contradicts his statement. The Father and grandfather of the minor accused have been booked for kidnapping the driver after the incident. There have been major twists and turn in the Pune Porsche Accident case. Now in a latest development Pune Police has arrested two Doctors of Sassoon General Hospital in the Porsche car accident case. The doctors are charged with the allegations of tempering blood samples of the accused. Meanwhile, State Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif said that the govt will set up an inquiry committee and doctors will be suspended. The 17-years-old minor allegedly mauled down the two IT professionals identified as Ashwini Koshta and Anish Awadhiya in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar. Both of them were the residents of Madhya Pradesh. The Juvenile Justice Board granted bail to the accused on condition of writing an essay which sparked anger among people.
