Northern Japan is facing a rapidly escalating wildfire crisis as massive forest fires continue to spread across Iwate Prefecture, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. What began on April 22 has now turned into a multi-front emergency, with two major blazes tearing through dry, mountainous terrain and pushing dangerously close to residential areas. Authorities confirm that more than 1,100 hectares of land have already been scorched, with flames advancing under persistent dry weather conditions that have made containment efforts extremely difficult. Hundreds of families have been forced to evacuate, with over 300 residents currently taking refuge in emergency shelters. WATCH
