Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, took a subtle jab at the BJP, indirectly referencing the RSS. Speaking to the Indian diaspora in Herndon, Virginia, he criticized the ruling party's narrow view, suggesting they fail to recognize that India is meant for everyone. Gandhi emphasized India's diversity by likening it to a food plate, where different dishes like rice, pulses, and vegetables represent various traditions and histories. He argued that India's strength lies in its unity of diverse states and cultures, and criticized the BJP for treating some elements of this diversity as less important. "In India, everything works together," Gandhi said, "If someone claims rice is more important than pulses and vegetables are the least important, it reflects the BJP's approach."
