Former wrestler Sakshi Malik in a tell-all interview with Mid-day’s Katyayani Kapoor, shares the struggles of being an athlete and more so - struggles that Vinesh went through to lose weight. After the Olympics, there has been a lot of comparison of India’s performance with that of the USA and China. As a mark of protest over the (WFI) elections result, where Sanjay Singh was elected as the president, India’s ace wrestler Bajrang Punia on December 22 said that he will return his Padma Shri to PM Modi. The Olympic medalist also wrote a letter to PM Modi and shared it on his official X handle. A day ago, wrestler Sakshi Malik hung up her boots protesting the victory Brij Bhushan’s close aide Sanjay Singh. In May this year, a scuffle broke out between ace wrestlers protesting against the WFI chief and Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar. Wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and other top grapplers alleged that Delhi Police personnel manhandled them when they tried to bring in mattresses after daylong rain
