Three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Shukroo forest area of Keller in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on May 13. Security forces recovered AK-47 rifles, grenades, Indian identity cards, and cash from the slain terrorists after the Shopian encounter. On 13 May 2025, a joint operation by the Indian Army and police led to the elimination of three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in the dense Shukroo forest area of Keller, in South Kashmir’s Shopian district. Acting on specific intelligence from a Rashtriya Rifles unit regarding terrorist presence in the Shoekal Keller region, security forces launched a cordon and search operation. As troops began combing the area, the terrorists opened heavy fire, leading to a fierce gunfight. In the ensuing exchange, all three terrorists were neutralised. The identities of the deceased are currently being verified.
