On January 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 128th birth anniversary at Samvidhan Sadan. PM Modi said that the nation remembers Netaji with great respect and that this year’s celebrations are special, with a grand event in Odisha, his birthplace. He praised the exhibition in Cuttack showcasing Netaji’s life and achievements. Modi highlighted how Netaji’s ultimate goal was "Azad Hind" (Free India) and how he chose a difficult path over a comfortable life under British rule. The Prime Minister urged everyone to step out of their comfort zones, just like Netaji did, and work towards building a developed India focused on excellence and efficiency.
