Protesters showed black flags to International Cricket Council (ICC) representatives, who visited the city to inspect Eden Gardens yesterday.
An association headed by a certain Anjan Nag organised the protests. They held a placard that read "go back ICC" when ICC representatives Chris Tetley, Eugene van Vuuren and Campbell Jamieson arrived at the ground.
Nag said: "Eden is ready, but they didn't give us the India game. We are aware of the politics behind the decision. They have played with Kolkata's emotions. That's why we launched this protest."
Meanwhile, ICC expressed satisfaction with Cricket Association of Bengal's (CAB) renovation work. "The ICC is satisfied. We have completed work well ahead of their schedule. We are positive now," CAB stadium committee chairman Chitrak Mitra told MiD DAY.
