The Dahisar outfit were defeated by SPS Suvidyalaya (Borivali) by just one run in au00a0 Coca-Cola Cup U-16 inter-school cricket tournament league tie at Cross Maidan yesterday.
Shailendra Education were bowled out for 197 in 44.2 overs chasing Suvidyalaya score of 198 runs.u00a0
Abhishek's valiant knock of 103 off 111 balls included 14 boundaries and one six.
Earlier, Suvidyalaya won the toss and elected to bat. They accumulated their score for the loss of three wickets in the stipulated 45 overs. All-rounder Niranjan Paradkar (88) was the highest scorer for the Borivali team.
"The target of 198 looked achievable. We were confident that we could easily win the match. But we kept losing wickets at the other end, as I inched closer to my ton,"
15-year-old Abhishek told MiD DAY. "It hurts that I missed a golden opportunity of training with my idol Sachin Tendulkar's teamu00a0-- Mumbai Indians," added Abhishek.
The six best players of the tournament will get an opportunity to train with Indian Premier League team Mumbai Indians.
