The Dadar team ended the day on 156 for four in 90 overs as Rizvi bowlers hardly gave them any room to score freely. Pacer Piyush Dinanath (18-6-32-2) maintained a tight line. Dinanath was ably assisted by tweaker Sidak Singh (27.2-16-34-1) and medium-pacer Prakhar Gupta (16.4-8-20-1).

Narvekar, who is unbeaten on 58 and has missed the century mark on several occasions this season, wants to reach the three-figure mark this time. "On the last four occasions, I got out just before reaching 90. I hope at least in the final I will be able to score a ton. It was unfortunate that we couldn't take advantage of the good track today. The ball came on to the bat very well, but we kept losing wickets at regular intervals," said 12-year-old Vaishnav.

Earlier, Prakhar Gupta got an early breakthrough when he dismissed Sule Guruji captain Yash Bhojane (15) in the 12th over. Opener Prathamesh Chavan was bowled by Piyush Dinanath the very next ball. But a determined Vaishnav stayed till the end and is eyeing the 300-run mark for his school.

"If we fail to put up more than 300 on board, the pressure will be on our bowlers. We just have two more batsmen in Tanush Kotian and Abhishek Vaidya, so we need to play cautiously," he added. Meanwhile, Rizvi bowler Prakhar, who was hit by a ball earlier, could not finish the last over of the day because of a muscle pull. Sidak completed the over. However, Rizvi coach Raju Pathak said that Prakhar would be fit to play on Day Two.
