World Cup quarter final in Bangalore, March 9, 1996:

Navjot Sidhu's brilliant 93 runs and a rampant Ajay Jadeja whacking Waqar Younis successively for 18 and 22 runs led India to a defendable 287. In reply Aamir Sohail came down hard on pacers especially one Venkatesh Prasad when he taunted him towards the boundary after smashing a four off his over. Prasad then dismissed Sohail at the very next ball with the Indian bowler showing him off to the stands. India went on to win by 39 runs

Imran Khan's devastating spell of 6-14 reduced India to 125 all out, however led by Kapil Dev Indian bowlers produced a magical spell of bowling to dismiss Pakistan for 87 and win the match by 38 runs.

After Saeed Anwar took apart the Indian bowlers with a quickfire 140 to lead Pakistan to 314, Indian opener Sourav Ganguly hit a timely century along with a supportive fifty runs from Robin Singh. In the final over, Hrishikesh Kantitkar hits boundary to help India to a win.

Chasing a total of 266, India's batting order collapsed after Ganguly-Kambli's partnership. Rajesh Chauhan then hit a six in the final over to steer India to a shocking win.
