Christchurch: Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for swearing during Day Four of the second Test against New Zealand.

Hazlewood was furious after an lbw appeal against Kane Williamson (97) was turned down and expletives were picked up by a stump microphone.


The International Cricket Council said Hazlewood had breached Level 1 of its Code of Conduct.

The incident happened during the last over before lunch when Hazlewood, after his review was turned down by third umpire Richard Illingworth, used obscene language that was picked up by the stump microphone and subsequently by television broadcasters
