KKR captain Gautam Gambhir blasted his batsmen, saying they lacked intelligence towards the end of the innings as his team slumped to a two-run loss against Punjab here yesterday.
u00a0“You just cannot justify this defeat in any way,” he thundered. “Our bowlers bowled brilliantly to restrict them to 134. If you cannot even get 135, you do not deserve to win,” he said.

“Our middle-order has failed miserably and it’s been going on for long. I think it’s time for them to take more responsibility. Things cannot go on like this for long,” he added. Gambhir expressed his unhappiness over Yusuf Pathan. “He is a big-time player but he cannot just play such shots. It’s time he delivers with the bat,” he said. Pathan, considered a finisher by coach Trevor Bayliss, is having a poor run and fell without scoring at a crucial stage in the run-chase.
