How many batsmen score a match-winning hundred and admit to a confidence crisis? Well, West Indies captain Chris Gayle is one of them.

Yesterday, Gayle smashed 146 off 89 balls for against Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval to help his Caribbean team win by 90 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method.

"I'm not feeling the injury (side strain). I just haven't batted too much, so I just feel a bit rusty. I just need to hit a few more balls. I'm a bit surprised, to be honest with you, hitting the ball, because I've been out for quite some time... with my injury. I'm really happy to spend some time in the middle. Hopefully I can continue. I just need to hit a few more balls and work on a few more things in my extra time. Once I get that right I should be ready to go," he said.

The West Indies returned Down Under after their unsuccessful Test series. They will play five one-day internationals and two T20 fixtures.
