Colombo: Sri Lanka's national curator Anurudda Polonowita refused to blame the much-criticised pitch for the second Test which ended in a tame draw with close to 1,400 scored in the first innings, Cricinfo reported.

"I am quite happy with the pitch," Polonowita said.

"The Indian side has six or seven world class batsmen. The same goes for Sri Lankan batsmen as well. All of them are record holders.

"Sri Lanka had Muttiah Muralitharan who got 800 wickets and Chaminda Vaas who had 400. Where are they now? Why don't you talk about bowling rather than the pitch?

"The captains say it's a batting wicket and the bowlers do not have a chance. They don't have the bowlers to have a chance.

If Sri Lanka had those bowlers at the SSC, they would have won. If they took Sachin Tendulkar's catch, it would have been 180 for 5, anything could have happened," he added.
