Deccan Chargers, 2009 IPL champions, have suffered a rocky start to the season with two losses, but coach Darren Lehmann is confident that his side would put its best foot forward against Royal Challengers Bangalore today, in a rematch of the 2009 final at the Wanderers.
Deccan lost to Rajasthan by eight wickets in their season opener and then slumped to a nine-run loss to Kolkata. "We are not worried about the results. We are working very hard on our processes, our plans. There is definite improvement," Lehmann said.
"The mood is upbeat. It is a game of cricket at the end of the day and we are going to enjoy the way we play. We are going to play good brand of cricket. We are certainly going to play better come tomorrow," added Lehmann.
If history was to repeat itself, Deccan would lose today. Asked if there was a jinx associated with the home stadium, Lehmann said, "You lose games and it has nothing to do with jinx. We hope to play well and success will come our way."
Lehmann said that his side will be bolstered by the addition of Cameroon White, who is also the team's vice-captain. "We have our partnership rules and if we hit them we will make big score. That is what we are working towards," he concluded.
