Captain Khizar Dafedar's 51 runs and four wickets helped Vengsarkar XI lift the U-14 Ultratech Cup beating Shastri XI by an innings and 37 runs yesterday.

Resuming at 71 for one, the winners declared their innings at 218 for six in 58 overs, thus managing a lead of 101. Dafedar and Jayesh Pokhare (23) added 61 runs for the third wicket and Osama Parkar remained unbeaten on 58 with eight boundaries.

Trailing by 101, Shastri XI were skittled out for 64 in just 24.3 overs, thanksu00a0 to some tight bowling by medium pacer Mohammed Akram (3-8) and leg-spinner Dafedar (4-9).

Dafedar was adjudged the Player of the Match. Siddharth Akre of Shastri XI was named the Man of the Series and the best batsman fir his 281 runs and four wickets in this tournament.

Bhavin Darjee, who claimed 18 wickets in the tournament, was given the best bowler's award while Rudra Dhande was adjudged Best Fielder of the tournament.
