He said these tragedies during his playing career had made him stronger and more hungry for success as his father, brothers and sister always wanted him to succeed in his cricket career.

He said they always used to appreciate his performances and reminded him of his duties as a Pakistan player.

'No intension to retire'
Making it clear that he had set himself some clear goal, Younis said at present he had no intentions of retiring from the game.

"I am 19 runs away from breaking the record of Javed Miandad for most Test runs and he is a legend and I always consider him a batting legend. Nothing would be better than to be spoken about in the same terms as him," Younis.

The former Pakistan captain said the ambition of trying to a win a Test series in England and Australia and doing well in those conditions were also enough to keep him going for a while.

"I have always raised my game when the challenge has been great and I would like to be part of a team that can win a test series in England and Australia,"
he said.
