On Friday, the 30-year-old Chigumbura was in a similar situation against India with his team needing six to win the first ODI in Harare. Did Miandad’s feat cross his mind? “The thought of Miandad didn’t come to my mind. I was just thinking about watching the ball and stay balanced,” he said over the phone from Harare.
“I thought Bhuvaneshwar Kumar bowled so well. He made the difference for India to win the match. It’s good to score a hundred but it could have meant a lot had we won. It will rank as one of the best games I have played for sure,” he added.
