Legendary Diego Maradona on Tuesday played a charity football match against former India captain Sourav Ganguly at Barasat, West Bengal. The Argentine star is on a three-day visit to Kolkata. Ganguly, who had watched Maradona's 1986 World Cup triumph, described the 57-year-old as an absolute legend and said he had never thought of getting an opportunity to play with the football ace.

Former Indian football captain Prasun Banerjee, who was also present at the event said, 'Players likeMaradona are born after 100 years. I am very happy that today I am here with him. He is a great player.' Meanwhile, Maradona, now the coach of the Dubai-based club Al-Fujairah SC, also unveiled a 12-feet bronze statue of him holding aloft the 1986 World Cup trophy. This was Maradona's second visit to the city. He was last here in December 2008.
