The Barclays English Premier League trophy is to be displayed at the Manchester United Soccer School (MUSS) at Cooperage here on February 8 and two former players from MU, the holders, would accompany the trophy.

The players will also hold training sessions.

The trophy, created by Royal Jewellers Asprey of London, weighs 25 kg, is 76 cm tall, 43 cm wide and 25 cm deep and its main body is solid sterling silver and silver gilt and the plinth is made of malachite, a semi-precious stone, a media release said today.

Two of MU's most capped and decorated players - Denis Joseph Irwin and Quinton Fortune - are slated to hold a special training session for the football trainees enrolled with the Manchester United Soccer Schools.

Irwin is a former Irish football player who is best known for his long and successful stint at MU, where he established himself as one of the most important players in the United team that won a host of domestic and European trophies in his time there between 1990 and 2002.

He has been regarded by MU's long-serving manager Sir Alex Ferguson as pound for pound his greatest ever signing. In 12 years at Old Trafford, he made 296 Premier League appearances and won seven Premier League title medals, as well as three FA Cup winners medals (1994, 1996 and 1999), a League Cup winner's medal and Champions League and Cup Winners' Cup honours.

Quinton Fortune is a South African footballer who has represented a number of European clubs including MU who purchased him from Atl tico Madrid initially as cover for Ryan Giggs, and was thought of primarily as an attacking left-sided midfielder.

Fortune, however, proved himself a capable and dedicated performer in a number of positions, especially as a defender.

Sir Alex often deployed him as a central midfielder or as a left-back.
