Former India leg-spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan's appointment in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) cricket committee has not gone down well with the Federation of International Cricketers' Association (FICA)
According to highly placed sources, FICA is all set to raise its objections and may protest against Siva’s appointment in the next 24 hours, it is learnt here.

It is not known whether Siva would continue to do commentary during his tenure as a cricket committee member.
However, Siva, who has replaced Tim May as the players’ representative in the ICC cricket committee, is neither supporting the Decision Review System (DRS) nor opposing it.
“I am delighted to be in the committee and will serve the game. It is not that only my views will be considered regarding the DRS. I shall try to listen to others before expressing my views in public. Let me understand why the same (DRS) is being opposed and what others have to say on this,” Siva said.
A meeting of the committee is scheduled later this month in London. For the first time, the committee will be chaired by former India skipper Anil Kumble, who succeeded ex-West Indies captain Clive Lloyd.
It is alleged that the BCCI has used its clout to replace FICA chief May with Sivaramakrishnan, but the former leggie doesn’t believe that.
“The captains wanted me to be in the committee and that is how I am there now,” he said.u00a0
