The medical tests showed that de Gea’s injury, sustained Saturday, needs 10 days for recovery. As a consequence, the Manchester United goalkeeper will not be able to play the World Cup Group B matches against Chile and Australia, reports EFE.

De Gea’s injury does not pose much danger for Spain. It now means manager Vicente del Bosque must decide whether to keep faith with Casillas or drop him for Liverpool’s Pepe Reina.
Spain will attempt to get their campaign back on track with victory over Chile on Wednesday, before facing Australia in their final group game.
