Force India's Adrian Sutil was handed a three-place grid penalty for blocking Red Bull's Mark Weber, who qualified 19th of the 20 drivers at the qualifying rounds for the Bahrain GP. Sutil, who was 16th fastest will now start behind Webber. Meanwhile, Sutil's senior teammate Giancarlo Fisichella will start the race from the 17th spot.
