The summer racing carnival, held over the weekend is held in place of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce Christmas Fest, which was put off because equine flu delayed racing at Mahalaxmi and the 26/11 terror attacks.
So on a hot, hot, weekend, the prospect of chilled German beer may sound especially inviting. The racing begins at 2.30 pm on both days and revolves round the carnival theme punters could browse through a number of stalls ranging from handicrafts, toys, garments to household goods. The Lufthansa Cup to be run on Sunday is to be linked to a contest of skill where business tickets to Germany are up for grabs. Entertainment and workshops for children including tattoo workshops, bottle painting, plate paintingu00a0 and others are designed to take the sting out of summer. As Rudy Steinrueke of the Indo-German chamber said, "It is never too warm for the Germans. They love the sun." Let the desis become a little like Germans over the weekend.
