How Mudassar is bridging the gap in the Gulf

Mudassar Nazar was all praise for the young ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate side, led by Ireland's William Porterfield for the three-day match against England starting on January 7 in Dubai. Thereafter, England will play three Tests, four ODIs and three Twenty20 fixtures against Pakistan in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.u00a0

"There are many players, who are good enough to play for any top side in the world. They will get good exposure when they play against a side like England. These matches are like World Cup finals for them. ICC should organise more such matches to groom these talented cricketers," Mudassar told MiD DAY.u00a0

Combined AM XI: William Porterfield (captain, Ireland), Saqib Ali (UAE), Kyle Coetzer (Scotland), George Dockrell (Ireland), Majid Haq (Scotland), Hamid Hassan (Afghanistan), Mohammed Nabi (Afghanistan), Boyd Rankin (Ireland), Mohammed Shahzad (Afghanistan), Paul Stirling (Ireland), Christi Viljoen (Namibia) and Craig Williams (Namibia); Head coach:u00a0Mudassar Nazar.u00a0
