It was the last time the two legends of the game ufffd Mumbai Indians's Sachin Tendulkar and Rajasthan Royals's Rahul Dravid ufffd were facing off here in the CLT20 final. But both batsmen marked the occasion by complimenting each other as Test cricketers.
“He would have been a number three any day in my team. There are so many innings where he batted brilliantly while others around him found it difficult. Whenever there was a challenge I knew we could bank upon Rahul,” said Tendulkar.

“You must remember Sachin was seven years senior to me as a cricketer. In my third match Sachin was the captain of India,” Dravid said. “He was someone whom young cricketers looked up to. He was an inspiration for all of us. It was a great opportunity to share the dressing room with him.
“I remember Rahul being a part of the Wills Trophy team that I was captain of, but we played in white. That was the first time I saw Rahul. I think it was in 1993-1994. It’s a rare moment that we get to play against each other in coloured clothing,” said Tendulkar.
Both the legends received a guard of honour from their teammates yesterday. While Dravid was given the ceremonial salute as Royals entered the field, Tendulkar was given the guard of honour after being bowled for 15.u00a0
