On Thursday, Virat Kohli’s men crushed SL by six wickets to go 2-0 up in the series. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 274-8 in 50 overs. In reply, India never looked in any sort of trouble as they chased down the target in 44.3 overs. “I think we’re slowly getting better, but I’m disappointed and embarrassed by the fact that we were not competitive enough against the Indians,” Mathews was quoted as saying by ESPN Cricinfo.

“They thrashed us in the first ODI and also here. It was a convincing performance by them. We need to get our game up in the next few games to win against them.
“It would have been better if I had got a 60 and we won the game. Unfortunately, we ended up on the losing side,” said Mathews, who top-scored for Lanka with an unbeaten 92 at Ahmedabad.
