Arun will join the support staff consisting of Daniel Vettori, the head coach, Allan Donald, the bowling coach, and Trent Woodhill, the batting coach. This is the first time Arun will be a part of an IPL side's support staff.
Arun took charge as bowling coach of the national team during the One-Day International leg of the England tour in August 2014. Prior to that, he coached the 2014 batch of India Under-19s to the World Cup. He was also in charge of the India Under-19 team that lifted the World Cup under Unmukt Chand's captaincy in Australia in 2012.
The former Tamil Nadu medium pacer, who played two Tests and two One-Day Internationals in the mid-1980s, replaced Joe Dawes in the national set up, and has come in for praise after a good showing from the Indian pacers at the World Cup.
