India Cements beat the hosts by six wickets to claim honours in the Rs 12 lakh prize money Dr D Y Patil All-India T20 cricket tournament which concluded at the Dr D Y Patil Stadium, Nerul on Saturday.
The decision to bat after winning the toss finally backfired for the hosts as their batsmen failed to come to terms with some accurate bowling from India Cements' S Suresh, Suresh Kumar and P Amarnath and were restricted to 155 for 8 from their 20 overs.
The reply by Indian Cements was not too impressive to begin with, losing opener, B Arun Karthik for 7 and the next three batsmen with the scoreboard reading a not too flattering 70.
However, in form players Dinesh Karthik and Hemang Badani then put on an unbeaten partnership of 88 runs for the fifth wicket to see their team through with six wickets and two overs to spare.
