New Zealand went into Day Five with 75 for three but ended up scoring the same amount as they did in the first innings.
Harbhajan Singh ended up as the pick of the bowlers with six for 63.India now need only 39 runs to achieve their first Test win in New Zealand in 41 years.
India scored 520 in their first innings on the back of Sachin Tendulkar's wondrous 160. Today, Brendon McCullum scored a defiant 84 which helped in preventing Dhoni from earning an innings win.
