Dubai: Vijay Zol, who had experienced the highs of winning the U-19 World Cup two years ago in Australia, was distraught after losing to England in the quarter-final on Saturday. Unbeaten in the tournament, India bit the dust after being unable to defend their total of 221 in 50 overs.

Zol stated the loss was one of the disappointing moments and nothing can take away the losing feeling. "Nothing can make us forget this disappointment. The World Cup victory two years ago is history. It was in the past and today we just disappointed," Zol said after losing by three wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
India, who chose to bat, were in a spot of bother, but thanks to Zol's 48, Deepak Hooda's 68 and a late surge from Mumbai's Sarfaraz Khan (52 not out) the defending champs posted a respectable total.
Zol defended the decision to bat on a wicket that was slightly damp in the morning. "I completely back my decision and my team also backed me. Yes, there were a few weird dismissals. The seamers bowled well, and I would like to give them credit. When Hooda and I started batting, the wicket settled down and the ball started coming on to the bat better. It was a matter of eight to 10 overs, but they bowled well," he said.
Few runs, the difference
The skipper said: "A few more runs on the board could have changed things." Defending champions India were hot favourites to win the Cup for the fourth time. Zol, however, shrugged of suggestions that the team was under extreme pressure to defend the title. "That was not the case. We started off really well to come to the quarter-finals. There was no other pressure. In fact, we were enjoying (our challenge)," he said.
