Inter skipper Javier Zanetti has voiced his approval for Leonardo to take over from Rafael Benitez as coach
Inter skipper Javier Zanetti has voiced his approval for Leonardo to take over from Rafael Benitez as coach.
The Brazilian tactician is one of the main candidates linked with the post following Benitez's exit, which was
made official yesterday.
"I know Leonardo very well, he is very smart and intelligent," the 37-year-old was quoted as saying.
"As a coach he can offer so much, he has gathered plenty of experience during his playing career and beyond."
Leonardo coached the Nerazzurri's rivals Milan last season to third place in Serie A, but left by mutual agreement after enduring a difficult relationship with Rossoneri president Silvio Berlusconi.
Inter currently lie seventh in the standings.
