A cracker of a contest is on the cards as Gautam Gambhir's red-hot Kolkata Knight Riders take on faltering defending champions Chennai Super Kings in their 10th preliminary league match of Indian Premier League-V here today.

It's CSK vs KKR for the first time in IPL-V today!

The teams are squaring off for the first time this season, and KKR start favourites, having won five of their nine matches so far. Gambhir has been leading from the front and his batting this season in particular has been spectacular. His 51-ball 93 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday was arguably IPL-V’s best knock thus far.u00a0

Will KKR skipper Gambhir get hold of the Orange Cap today?

On the other hand, Chennai are faltering because of persisting batting woes and lost by seven runs to Kings XI Punjab on Saturday. u00a0Besides Gambhir, Jacques Kallis, Manoj Tiwary and Manvendra Bisla have been among the runs for KKR.

In bowling, they have a fairly good combination starting from Lakshmipathy Balaji, who knows the conditions in Chepauk, Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Naraine. However, Chennai’s top bowlers Doug Bollinger and R Ashwin haven’t replicated their feats from previous IPL seasons.

Gambhir’s wishlist
>> Win the Orange Cap
>> Sunil Narine bowls tightly
>> Dismiss Faf du Plessis early
>> Get on top of R Ashwin’s spin
>> Y Pathan ends run draught

Dhoni’s wishlist
>> Get back to winning ways
>> Albie Morkel plays a cameo
>> Not allow Narine to dominate
>> du Plessis wins Orange Cap
>> Dismiss McCullum earlyu00a0
