"It is always tough to say when is the right time for such tough decisions. There is nothing called a right or wrong time. Wasim didn't have an exciting season even with the bat.

So, if he wanted to step down asu00a0 skipper, it was fine. It is a good decision. We have to respect that. He has stepped down on his own. He will think about the betterment of Mumbai's cricket in whatever he decides,," Kulkarni told MiD DAY.
Yesterday, Jaffer officially communicated to the Mumbai Cricket Association's joint secretary Nitin Dalal that his four-year stint at the helm ended.
Pressure
The pressure was mounting on Jaffer after Mumbai exited the Ranji Trophy in the semis. This was a back-to-back failure to reach the final.u00a0 However, Jaffer said his poor form with the bat was the main reason behind his decision. "Jaffer has written a letter that he wanted to concentrate on his batting. That's the reason he has relinquished the captaincy," Dalal was quoted as saying on PTI.
"If he feels so, then, let us respect his decision. It is important he enjoys his batting. Captaincy may have been a hindrance. He may also be thinking about need for new ideas in the team which a new skipper can bring in," Kulkarni added.
