Sri Lanka chief cricket selector Sanath Jayasuriya is not in favour of junior players of his country playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament as they adopt different technique in the shorter version (T20) of the game.
“I personally feel our youngsters should keep away from IPL as they adopt different technique playing in the T20 format, which is detrimental to them in the long run.
But "It is left to individual player's discretion to decide which of the format is good for them,” the former Lankan skipper said at an event organised by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau yesterday.
