Kolkata auction fetches Rs.14 crore

An amount of R14 lakh was raised by auctioning sports gear donated by India's sporting heroes like MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly, Leander Paes, among others to support cancer patient Bapi Majhi and the family of deceased Alip Chakraborty, both die-hard football fans

Kolkata: An amount of R14 lakh was raised by auctioning sports gear donated by India's sporting heroes like MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly, Leander Paes, among others to support cancer patient Bapi Majhi and the family of deceased Alip Chakraborty, both die-hard football fans.

Of the 31 items in the auction, Dhoni's wicket-keeping gloves were picked up for Rs 1 lakh while his pads were bought for Rs 50,000. Paes' racquets, a set of two, went for Rs 1.5 lakh.
